Old Mobile Evening
For thousands of years, people have enjoyed cuisine from our local waters - the Mobile River, Mobile Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. Mobile is the birthplace of dishes such as gumbo, jambalaya, West Indies Salad and fried crab claws. It’s our job to tell these stories.
On our Old Mobile Evening Tour, we will highlight these four dishes contributed to our pallets by Mobilians as we walk through the centuries of cuisine on our way to five of Mobile’s best restaurants and eateries.
Hear how food has shaped our culture and way of life on the Gulf Coast as we travel the Downtown Mobile Oyster Trail.
DAUPHINS - Located on the 34th floor of the RSA Trustmark Bank Building, its breaktaking views of the 75 nautical surrounding miles are almost as phenomenal as the food. The menu of Gulf Coast cuisine with hints of Caribbean and Creole make it a "must" in Mobile. Come taste Chef Steve Zucker’s, Gumbo Z’Herb, one of Alabama’s 100 Dishes To Eat Before You Die.
THE CHEESE COTTAGE - Located on historic "Automotive Alley", The Cheese Cottage features locally grown cheese and charcuterie not found anywhere else in Mobile. Our tasting features a special wine and cheese pairing. You'll be educated on how to taste it and what makes this tasting the "perfect pairing."
MOE’S ORIGINAL BAR B QUE- Located in a historic building in Downtown Mobile, Moe’s serves our guests their famous dishes with of course, a side of Alabama white BBQ sauce.
O DALY'S HOLE IN THE WALL - Located beside their sister restaurant O Daly's Irish Pub, O Daly's Hole in the Wall features a menu with items you can not find anywhere else in Mobile. This place is a true hidden gem in Mobile!
FIVE - Five's unique menu of five appetizers and five entrees have made it a favorite among Mobilians along with their fresh, Gulf seafood.
